Ads Gone Bad .. and Why!

Ad 3: An Email To Oblivion

I got an email last week, and said to myself: “Now this a an EXCELLENT sales presentation!”

Here’s an image of the email.  It's clean, concise, and to the point.

Since I'm a coin nut, and have purchased from them before, I click the link.

I then find myself on their website home page.

Here's what I found...

I looked, and squinted, and looked again... but... NO BUFFALO COIN was to be seen, and NO SPECIAL OFFER either!

I went back to the email, and tried clicking on the Buffalo Coin image. Sorry, Charlie - but the image wasn't hyperlinked.  (Ouch!)

I went back to the landing page to see if I had somehow missed the offer.  NOPE!

It just wasn't there.

The crux of the story is this - the good marketers at Trusted Bullion expected their prospects to intuitively know the special offer would be found under the Walking Liberty coin image.

I found this out because I sent an email to their very friendly customer service people - and they answered ASAP. (Kudos!)

But just imagine all the prospects that actually clicked on the link and were as frustrated as I was.

I warrant a heck of a lot.

Just think of all the sales that were lost because of this simple mistake of not having a direct link to the advertised special offer

The moral to this missive, Gentle Reader?

If you have a special offer, make darn sure the links take your prospects DIRECTLY to what you are advertising!

If not, the sales you're losing will be your own!
