  10 Political Questions

10 Key Questions I'd Like

Every Politician To Answer:

1)     In your entire tenure as an elected official - what specific laws, regulations, committees or governmental departments have you proposed or voted on to curtail, end or eliminate?

2)     What specific laws or legislation have you proposed or passed that limited government power, or returned rights previously curtailed by law back to the American citizen?

3)     In contrast, how many pieces of legislation have you proposed or supported that added more civil or criminal penalties to the over-regulated American public?

4)     How many pieces of legislation have you voted on without fully and completely reading and understanding the entire text of what was being proposed?

By fully and completely I mean having the entire text of the proposed legislation in your hands, thoughtfully reviewed and considered, and each section and subsection understood and their ramifications taken into consideration before casting your vote.

5)     If you did not completely read or fully understand a piece of legislation before voting on it, then please explain how you could have possibly known all the ramifications of its passage, or its effect upon your constituents.

Considering this, how do you support the concept of "ignorance of the law is no excuse" when you yourself weren't even aware of the totality of what you were voting on?

6)     Have you or any of your aides ever run afoul of any law that you have subsequently supported as legislation?

7)     Can you explain the difference between a Shiite and Sunni Moslem?

8)     When voting on any piece of "moral legislation" - such as gambling, gay marriage, drug use to name but a few - would you be willing to publicly disclose your experiences or experimentations in these areas? If not, why?

9)     Would you be willing to undergo surprise, random, unannounced drug testing while conducting your official duties as a public servant? If not, why?

10) Lastly, would you be willing to cite the specific article and section of the Constitution allowing you to decide on any piece of pending or proposed legislation? If not, why?

How many of you would like your representatives to answer these questions?

Now… how many of you in your wildest flights of fancy ever believe they will?

I thought so…
